Lakha Mandal ancient Shiva temple in Uttarakhand

Lakha Mandal is an ancient Hindu temple located in the Jaunsar–Bhawar region of Uttarakhand, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed that a visit to this sacred temple removes misfortunes and brings peace and prosperity to devotees.

Surrounded by lush forests and the scenic Yamuna River, the temple’s main attraction is the unique graphite Shiva Lingam, which shines when water is poured over it. Inside the temple are idols of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Lord Kartikeya, Lord Ganesha, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Bajrangbali.

Two impressive six-foot-tall statues of Dwarapalakas (sentinels) guard the temple entrance. According to local belief, these statues represent the Pandava brothers Bhima and Arjuna.

Lakha Mandal is approximately a 1.5-hour drive from Rigveda Resort. Many travellers visit the temple while traveling from Dehradun or Haridwar. The resort also assists guests with travel and food arrangements for a comfortable visit.
